Self Defence Curriculum
In todays society we are told increasingly by the media that violence is on the increase. As a result I believe it is very important to have some self defence knowledge.
One of the key rules in self defence is awareness. Be aware of your surroundings, if it was late at night and one side of the road is well lit and the other side is dark with little side streets off it, which side would you walk on? Common sense says to stay on the well lit side of the road.
Also, avoid situations, if you can get away from a violent situation without having to defend yourself; do it. It's not worth the risk.. However on some occasions you might find yourself with no option but to stand and defend yourself. Under this situation self defence knowledge is vital.
As with your other training, the key to success is repetition, practice the techniques below in as realistic a manner as possible without hurting your training partner (USE CONTROLLED AGGRESSION). If you train with realism, then when or if you have to defend yourself, it will become second nature and you will react with power, speed and accuracy.
